Annual Company Party

Substack is a startup established in 2017. Every year, all the employees gather together to celebrate what we accomplished as a team in the past year and to commemorate the company’s anniversary. Being an in-house designer, I not only witness how the company evolves through time, but also grow together with the company and develop the brand around.

When I first joined Substack in 2021, it was a 20 people startup. In 2021, we had a close friend and family style party, it was a cozy and homy party. We were also still at the exploration stage with our visuals. The visual reflects who we were and documented where we were at back in 2021.

In 2022, the company grew three times in size. New teams were formed and more structures were also put in place. The visual reflects the energy we had in 2022.

In the year of 2023, we have launched a lot of new features and had a lot of great learnings. The company has matured even more. The visual reflects the idea of full blossom, interestingly, our party venue changed from last year’s historical factory to the conservatory of flowers.
